 
                        
                        Despite the spreading pandemic, Tollywood has churned over a dozen fab films during the festive pujas last year. However, many of them had been under the curtains for a long time and had yet to be released. Many of the long-awaited movies have seen the light but there was a small number that was released this Puja which is a must-see. Here's a list of all the noteworthy Bengali films that are worth a watch. It will make up your fun-filled weekend plans, which includes imaginative fairy tales and suspense pieces to sports historical pieces, sci-fi, and romances if you haven't watched them yet. Tuck yourself in a pool of blankets with boxes of pizzas and a couple of cold drinks to sip, and get set to run a movie marathon. 
1.	GOLONDAAJ: 8.7. This Bengali sports drama starring actor Dev as Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari, the founder of the Indian soccer team, was shot on a gigantic scale. Dhrubo Banerjee's film is set during the struggle for freedom and contains all of the necessary elements to get your heart racing. 
2.	BONY: 6.8 Like every year Ms Mallick is back to setting the stage on fire with an amazing storyline penned by an acclaimed author Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay which is beautifully directed by Parambrata Chattopadhyay. This sci-fi movie is about a couple who have recently moved to Italy and the mystery behind the birth of their child, the mother (Koel) waging a war against AI, forms the crux of the story. 
Kanchan and Anjan have also played significant parts in the film to add more value to this sci-fi movie. This movie has an intricate plotline and is definitely worth a watch. 
3.	BAAZI: 6.4 This high budget film is not your typical rom-com but an act of romance revenge with a riveting storyline. The opening scene is where Jeet has landed in the United Kingdom. The main protagonist fights for the father’s honour and there is a sequence of scenes where he is seen simply torn between his love life and his duty towards his family. Will he be able to win both or does he need to choose forms the rest of the story? And for the musical numbers, it is directed by Jeet Ganguly, known for his foot-tapping numbers. One can also see beautiful landscapes as the film was shot in parts of London and also in the UK. 
4.	FIR: 6.9 Ankush Hazra, Ritabhari Chakraborty Bonny Sengupta & Falaque Rashid Roy feature in this gripping crime thriller that will keep you fascinated till the end. The narrative of the film centres on double murders that took place in Raghunathpur over three consecutive days. The plot jumps 14 years when a cop from Lalbazar Special Cell arrives at the crime scene to investigate the murders that took place nearly a decade ago that unearth the motive behind the gruesome murders, riveting investigations. This Bengali noir appears to be bone-chilling, with the tagline: Revenge is a sweet dish that tastes best when served cold. 
5.	HOBU CHANDRA RAJA GOBU CHANDRA MANTRI:8.5.This imaginative fairy piece is made in large-size sets with magnificent costumes can be said as the 1st kind of a movie like Baahubali where rich grandeur, magnificent performances and aesthetics form the main core of this movie. The plotline is based on a novel penned by the proclaimed novelist Dakhshinaranjan Mitra Majumder which has been beautifully brought to life by Aniket Chattopadhyay. The star actors of this large-scale family drama are Kharaj Mukherjee, Saswata & Arpita.
